Course Description
This cooking course is designed to encourage young people to learn to cook for themselves and others with confidence.
It is a 13 week course, with some theory and practical tasks to complete and upload each week, covering a wide range of skills, as well as hygiene, safety in the kitchen, and healthy eating. Any student under the age of 16 will need parental consent due to the use of sharp knives, open flames, boiling liquids and other potential hazards. Please ensure you watch the safety videos, and always act responsibly and with caution. Be-Zing cannot be held responsible for any injuries that happen at home.
Upon purchase of the course, you will be emailed a full ingredients list. There are a choice of menus to make for each week, including vegetarian options. You can also purchase a starter pack of all the dried ingredients, ready measured for each week, so you just have to buy the fresh produce yourself.
Some basic kitchen equipment will be required, such as knives, chopping board, pots, pans etc. It is not essential to have a food processor, blender or electric whisk, however it could be useful.
This course supports Duke of Edinburgh award 3 month skills section. You can forward your DofE number and we will assess and complete your forms.
