Why not try and mix it up a bit with some other varieties :
Foccaccia: Follow the basic loaf recipe, plus add 3 tbsp of olive oil to your dough. After knocking back, you create a flatter loaf, make several holes around the surface, then drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle over sea salt and rosemary. You could even add some diced olives to your dough mix.
Bagels: Follow the basic loaf recipe, but add 1 tbsp of sugar to your mix. After rising, knock back the dough and form 6 to 8 equal balls, and make a hole in the centre of each. Leave to prove for 10 -15 minutes. After proving, bring a pan of water to boil and add a tbsp of sugar. Boil each bagel for a minute on each side, it will form a glossy skin, then remove traces of water and transfer to a baking tray. You can sprinkle with some seeds to top and bake for 20-25 minutes
Shapes: Why not try forming different shapes such as plaiting your dough before proving?
Fillings and Toppings: Experiment with different toppings or fillings for your dough, sesame or poppy seeds for example.
