This culinary course is tailored to empower young individuals with the skills to cook international cuisines, focusing on each country’s national dishes along with their traditional flavors, herbs, and spices. Participants will gain the confidence to cook for themselves and others through a 13-week program that includes both theoretical knowledge and practical exercises. Each week, students will complete and upload tasks that cover a broad spectrum of culinary skills, kitchen hygiene, and safety practices.
For safety reasons, any participant under the age of 16 requires parental consent to participate due to the use of potentially dangerous kitchen tools and environments, such as sharp knives, open flames, and boiling liquids. We emphasize the importance of watching safety videos and practicing caution and responsibility at all times. Be-Zing disclaims any liability for injuries incurred at home.
The program offers a variety of weekly menus, including vegetarian options, to cater to different dietary preferences. Additionally, a starter pack containing all necessary dried ingredients, pre-measured for each week, is available for purchase, leaving only the fresh ingredients for students to acquire.
Participants will need some basic kitchen tools like knives, chopping boards, and cookware. While having a food processor, blender, or whisk is not mandatory, these tools could be beneficial for certain recipes.
This course also serves as a supportive component for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, fulfilling the 3-month skills section. Participants can submit their DofE number for us to evaluate and process their completion forms
